The Geissinger family takes us along on their 18 month trek!
About this Event

Join us for a wild ride as the Geissinger Family recounts their 18-month road trip across the United States in a 32 foot RV. The highs were high, the lows were low, and the perspectives gained were life-changing.

This immersive “camping” event includes all the S’mores you can eat, Square One decaf, and bevy of other savories and drinks perfect for bivouacking.

Wear your best outdoor gear, bring your lawn chairs (optional), and don't forget your bear spray (JK).

Here’s what Sarah and Justin have to say about their presentation:

One of the main reasons we embarked on this year of traveling around our country was to expand both our views and our kid's views of the world based on the places we’d go and the various cultures we’d encounter.

As we left for a year-long cross-country trip, we had a hunch that as we got to know different places along the way, we would find conversations and connections revealing that we’re more alike than different. In this talk, and in the podcast we’re planning as a follow-up, we explore the tribes we create, the things that shape our worldview, some real-world challenges, and random things we’ve experienced while road-tripping with young kids.

We believe in the power of civil discourse to create understanding that provides a path to solve problems, both big and small. While we might not agree on everything, at the end of the day, the through lines of our stories can serve as a tie between us.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. -Mark Twain
