Come along with us to view birds at the Big Tree Natural Area!What will you see beyond the Big Tree? Join our park hosts for a bird tour in an area of the park that is otherwise closed to the public. We'll observe birds in a variety of habitats including live oak forests, coastal prairies, marshes, and bay shorelines.
When: Fridays at 8:30AM

Meet: Meet at the Day Use Picnic Area parking lot.
Bring: Binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, bug repellant, camera, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park has loaner binoculars available while supplies last.
Note on the tram: We can accommodate up to 9 visitors on the tram, and there are three people to each seat. You may be sitting in close proximity to other visitors.
*There are no facilities available at the Big Tree Natural Area.
Pets: No pets are permitted on the tram.
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when office is closed.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
