On September 28, 2024, Abilene will be hosting the FREE 2nd annual Big Texas Rally for Recovery! Funded through the University of Texas Addiction Research Institute and local sponsors , this will be an amazing celebration for those in long-term recovery from substance disorders/misuse and those walking alongside someone in recovery. Abilene was chosen as one of 15 cities across Texas to host this statewide event during the Recovery Month of September. Please click on the following link if you care to learn more:

With the theme “Wild for Recovery”, we encourage everyone to dress in their favorite animal costumes!! There will be free animal face painting for the 5K and throughout the event. Also, we will have a large Kids’ Zone (Directed by Serenity House) - May Farm animals & All Kind, Gravity’s Edge rock climbing wall, Shawna Hayhurst’s drum circle, live DJ, guest speakers, a 5K (Abilene Running Company), resource tables, FREE lunch for the first 500 participants, FREE t-shirts for the first 500 participants, and much more!!
