Step back to another time as we travel on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway in the heart of the Cumberland Plateau. We depart Farragut, Cracker Barrel-716 N Campbell Station, at 7:45am and Knoxville, Walmart- 3051 Kinzel Way, by 8:45am and travel to the Stearns, KY. Upon arrival to the Depot we board the train for our 30 minute excursion with breathtaking views of the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area in route to Barthell Coal Camp. While at the camp we'll enjoy a guided mine tour along with a coal miner's lunch consisting of a handmade half ham half turkey sandwich, chips, a moon pie, and a drink. Before departing for home at 3pm we'll have free time to browse Kentucky Coal Crafters and Pottery by Megh. We return to Knoxville by 4:45pm and Farragut by 5:45pm.
