About this Event
British International School of Chicago, South Loop and Lincoln Park are committed to understanding the diversity within our city and our community has long been invested in supporting both global and local organizations who seek to address inequities and create a better sense of belonging for all.
Belonging is a universal human goal that is achieved more easily when we learn more about each other’s lived experiences: our story is a powerful tool that creates understanding, empathy, and connection. We are therefore thrilled to invite you to learn more about Chicago-based non-profit groups, and the individuals behind them, as we partner with Big Shoulders Stories, to explore the concept of ‘Belonging to Chicago’. Big Shoulders Stories is a storytelling production company launched in 2019 with the mission to elevate the voices of the people who change communities in Chicago. Through story crafting workshops, showcases, and custom events, Big Shoulders Stories harnesses the power of personal narrative to break down barriers, create connections, and move hearts and minds.
