This year’s Big Questions event tackles one of the most provocative questions of our time: How do we make sense of Trump? This is the third in our Big Questions series and we are delighted to welcome award winning historian, author and journalist Nick Bryant as our guest expert. With decades of experience covering US politics for the BBC, Bryant has reported from Washington under five presidents – Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden – and is widely regarded as one of the most insightful commentators on American political life.
While many viewed Trump’s rise as an historical accident – and a second term as unthinkable – Bryant argues it was all but inevitable. Drawing on his background as both a journalist and historian, he offers a compelling perspective on what Trump’s legacy means for America and the world.
Described by broadcaster Emily Maitlis as “a man who makes you want to turn up the sound”, Bryant brings clarity and depth to this topic with warmth and wit.
This evening is for students, parents and staff of St Andrew’s Cathedral School.
