About this Event
To celebrate the launch of BIG LIGHT, Merseyway Workshop's brand new photographic darkroom, we are hosting an exciting series of photographic and thematic workshops, made possible with support from UKSPF.
In this photogram workshop, photographer Ela Skorska demonstrate cameraless photography techniques, creating dynamic images without photographic negatives. The process involves placing objects directly onto light-sensitive paper in order to create interesting compositions of silhouettes and ghostly outlines.
If you'd like to bring in small, interestingly-shaped objects to work with, you are welcome to do so. A range of objects will also be provided.
The workshop will take place between 10AM-5PM.
10AM-12PM: Introduction and short talk, collecting objects.
12-1PM: Lunch break
1-5PM: Play time, you can stay as long as you like developing your photograms, with Ela on hand to troubleshoot any issues along the way.
This is a FREE workshop requiring a £10 deposit which will be returned to you upon your attendance of the event. We do it this way to prevent no-shows. If payment of the deposit will be a barrier to your participation in the event, please get in touch and we will be happy to come to an arrangement.
Spots for this workshop are very limited. In the event that you are no longer able to attend, we ask that you let us know by email ([email protected]) with as much notice as possible so that we are able to transfer your ticket to somebody else, rather than your spot going to waste.
This workshop contributes to a programme of events running alongside Amoeba's exhibition at Stockroom, launching on 29th January.

• We are within a short walk from Stockport train and bus station. Parking is available at the Merseyway Shopping Centre NCP.
Refunds and Booking Terms
• This is a FREE event with a refundable £10 deposit, which will be returned to you upon attendance of the event. Please only book a ticket to this event if you are available and fully committed to attending the event.
