Public Hearing and The Downbeat, in collaboration with the Big Head Knights present the ultimate Halloween House Joust, Friday October 31st. With the usual unusuals: Mr Moe, Thom Banks, Matt Rose and Natty bringing in special guest, for one night only, J-Feud. It’s halloween, things might get spooky, costumes are encouraged of course, and to make things even better we are going to to open the club at 8pm for more time to dance dance dance

Natty aka The Night Mayor, has grown his following and dance floor sensibility with a combo of unwavering support for his local scene and relentless listening sessions, promoting shows and festivals and grooving to other DJs for the past 20 years. At times defying the 4/4 foundation of his first love of house music and keeping his sets fresh across the genres of many aspects of dance music, old and new. Natty is a favourite amongst dancers and his fellow artists with his immaculate selections and positive energy behind the decks, creating profound experiences that toy with irresistible tension and unpredictable release. 2024 saw Natty bring a new monthly residency in Victoria, Public Hearing, with a focus on supporting newcomers and veterans alike and presenting extended sets of club curated multi-genre dance music in an intimate setting.

Victoria, BC–based house music veteran whose deep roots in the underground scene stretch across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. With over 30 years of experience, Moe has been a driving force in shaping and sharing a sound that continues to ignite dance floors and inspire events worldwide wide.
As a buyer for Vancouver Island’s original underground dance music hub, Boomtown Records, Moe helped curate and champion the culture from behind the counter as well as behind the decks. His sound has the rich soulful and rhythmic textures of New York, Chicago, West Coast House, Afro, Dub, and Disco. He has shared the stage with some of the most renowned and iconic artists at clubs, festivals, and venues worldwide.
Whether performing or facilitating the sound of the underground, Mr. Moe remains a trusted name and a passionate ambassador for the community and culture of house music

Thom Banks is a staple in the dance music community in the City of Gardens since the 90's. Thom has earned himself many residencies over the years and has been invited to play at the best festivals, parties and clubs on the West Coast, including Song & Surf, Cosmic Campout, Diversity Festival, Festivus, Tall Tree Festival, Wonderment Festival, Rifflandia, Basscoast, and of course, Soundwave, west coast Canada's fabled electronic music festival.
His tight mixing, unparalleled track selection and keen ability in interpreting his crowd on the dance floor has allowed him to play alongside names such as Mathew Jonson, Dave Seaman, Mark Farina, Gene Farris, The Mole, Bassnectar and Eddie C, just to name a few. He's often considered a DJ's favourite DJ.

Matt is an enigma who exists in the shadows of collective consciousness, yet remains a driving force behind some of Vancouver Islands’s most notorious events. He has also been playing house and techno for discerning dance floors for 25 years.

For over 25 years J Feud has been an integral part of the underground music scene on Vancouver Island. He has held down numerous weekly and monthly residencies and regularly opens clubs and closes parties for the biggest names in the business.
James has shared the centre stage with international artists at Soundwave, V.E.M.F., Mandarina Festival (MEX), Festivus and performed at Northwest House Music Conference (USA), Tall Tree Music Festival, Resonance, The Kluth, Jump Ship and Rifflandia to mention a few.
J Feud has released an EP on Canada’s Kiko Records and singles on Black Bug Recordings, Rennie Foster’s RF label, Ginkgo Music (RO) and Mandarina Records (MEX), with remixes and other releases with his project with John Glassey as Amauric on labels such as Tilted Recordings and many more. Most recently collaborating with James Teej on a dubbed out techy house EP to soon be released on Teej’s label Sleeping Language.
Currently residing in Victoria, BC and running Deepend Promotions, James continues to support local and international artists by producing warehouse parties, nightclub events and collaborating on open-air festivals.
