Join us at Knowle Park between 24th and 26th January for this year’s Big Garden Birdwatch, the world’s largest garden wildlife survey! Whether you’re a seasoned birdwatcher or brand new to spotting our feathered friends, we’d love to have you take part.Simply spend one hour in the park noting which birds land in your view—every sighting (or lack of sightings) helps us and the RSPB understand how our garden birds are faring.
Last year, over 600,000 people took part in the Birdwatch, logging an impressive 9.7 million birds across the UK. Despite House Sparrows coming out on top, their numbers have plummeted by 60% since 1979. Overall, a staggering 38 million birds have disappeared from UK skies in the last 60 years.
By getting involved, you’ll be helping paint a clearer picture of how our local birds are doing—and what we can do to protect them. Bring your friends, family, and curiosity, and make a difference for wildlife at Knowle Park!
