YWNA once again is participating in the Great Southern BioBlitz. Join us on Saturday 25 October for a full day of nature discovery as we search for critters and see if we can outdo Melbourne Zoo in recording the most animals.
We’ll kick off the morning with a family-friendly birdwatch, then get our hands wet counting aquatic macroinvertebrates (water bugs). After a break for a BBQ lunch, our resident entomologist Dan Kurek will guide us into the fascinating world of ants.
As evening falls, stay on to enjoy the chorus of frogs and join our night survey, where we’ll attract moths with a light and sheet.
This is a family-friendly event with plenty to do for kids and adults. We’ll have activity trail cards, collect a sticker at each activity to track your adventure and win a prize for spending the whole day with us!
Keep an eye out for more details as we add more activities!
