The annual winter solstice is coming, and we'd like you to help us kick off the countdown! Join us for Big Day of Play: Countdown to the Winter Solstice on Saturday, December 10th as we learn more about the natural, historical, and cultural aspects of the winter solstice -- the day that the Earth reaches its greatest tilt away from the sun and we have theleast amount of daylight (and the longest shadows). Guests will be able to explore how sunlight has influenced archaeological sites around the world, how different cultures celebrate the winter solstice, and how the winter solstice has impacted agriculture and astronomy throughout time! We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the solstice.
