MUST REGISTER AT THIS LINK: https://events.thehoneycombproject.org/event/606f303f104f8700174a545aDon't miss this new monthly project! Join Honeycomb families from across Chicagoland to participate in your very own neighborhood cleanup. Grab some gloves, gather your family, and spend a few hours picking up trash and collecting recyclables as part of the worldwide Litterati movement. Together we can make a big impact in communities across Chicago and beyond.
Did you know that human beings produce more than 2.1 billion tons of garbage every year? That's enough to fill 822,000 Olympic-size swimming pools! If this waste is not properly disposed, it can cause serious harm to people and the planet. Your work in this project will not only beautify your block, it will also draw together neighbors to create healthier communities for us all to enjoy.
Take Note
The event time is intended to help coordinate self-led cleanups across the Chicago region. Work with your family to plan a clean-up activity on your block or in your neighborhood.
Remember, multiple small actions ignite big change. Let's put every Chicago zip code on our cleanup map! This project is hosted monthly on the 4th Sunday.
Health and safety is our priority. This is an outdoor, contact-free activity. We ask that you wear a face mask and practice social distancing when participating. Please adhere to CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Say cheese! Plan to track litter and share snapshots of your cleanup on Litterati to be a part of a Honeycomb's citywide map illustrating our combined impact.
