The release charted in the Top Ten on XM's Bluesville and the title track which featured Luther Dickinson from the North MS Allstars as a special musical guest reached # 1 on the RMR Charts.
Big Al and the Heavyweights originally formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band with founding members Al Lauro, Warren Haynes and Rick Gergen (Sweethearts of the Rodeo). Of course, Warren is no longer in the band, but Big Al has formed a solid array of musicians including critically acclaimed guitarist vocalist, Marcel Anton, on bass guitar and vocals Dennis “The Menace” Cedeno from Brooklyn, NY and on harmonica and vocals, Motor City’s most Dangerous, Dale Robertson. With 7 recordings of original roots music, the band continues to tour extensively playing venues and festivals throughout the US.
On April 30,2023 the band was inducted into The Alabama Blues Music Hall of Fame
Its a fun energetic show which features everything from Blues to Zydeco to Nola Funk plus originals from the band's seven albums and select covers from legendary artists like Ray Charles, The Allman Brothers and The Funky Meters.
