"BIG-2 / Blind Insect Gallery, 2nd anniversary" TWO YEARS AND COUNTING! // Come and enjoy outdoor music, art, food, and culture - Blind Insect Gallery is turning two!You are invited to an evening full of surprises on Thursday, July 29th from 6:30 p.m. to 9: 30 pm. As part of the Summer of Alberta 2021, we are excited to announce the third installment of BARRIO. This month Blind Insect is featuring RUSSIA. Under the umbrella of our Russian-speaking artists, the culture that comes forth is unique and diverse in its roots.
As part of BARRIO of Russia, we are going to have the sounds of Russian musician and songwriter Irina Myachkin and dance music with the Dj Zhenya. Meanwhile, you can walk in the parking lot behind the gallery and enjoy the artwork by the Russian artists Aleksandra Apocalisse, Igor Snigirev, Irina Myachkin, Inna Pustakhanova, Oksana K, Oleg Kash, Tatyana Ostapenko, Anya Mironets, Goni Na Lyubov, and Yana Golberg.
This BARRIO brings together the flavors of Russia via an audience participatory style pot luck. We would love to serve your version of a Russian Tapas to share with the community. Additionally Fools House Art Collective will be bringing us a uniquely immersive experience via live theater.
But that is not all! Inside the gallery we will be unveiling "WHAT ABOUT LIFE?", the new feature exhibition showcasing the collage artwork of nine artists from around the world: Larry Calkins, Sydney Rose, Scott Neff, Sharon Wherland, Cheryl Chudyk, Zach Collins, Kellette Elliott, Miss.printed & Cory Peeke
This event is FREE and ALL are welcome to come and explore culture and art with Blind Insect Gallery. Opening Reception and event runs from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm on Thursday, July 29th at Blind Insect Gallery. Special thanks to Alberta Main street, RACC & PBOT for their support.
