
About this Event
Bicycles, Trees, and Teas is a FREE family friendly cycle ride and repair event exploring nature in Chippenham. The majority is traffic free and has several stopping points to allow people cycling of different abilities to catch up. The ride is part of the Big Bike Revival, and is particularly suitable for adults who are beginners, improving, or returning to cycling.
The route has a nature theme featuring
- FREE Cycle Repair checks at the start 1 hour before setting off . Cycle checks 9-30 to 10-30; ride leaves at approximately 10-30am.
- FREE Cycle accessories
- The Rooted Tree nursery and Community garden at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre
- Avon Needs Trees site at Pudding Brook
- A pass by Abbeyfield School
- The Tiny Forest in Monkton Park
- The tenth Hole Tea rooms - with FREE refreshments
- For those that need to return to the start the route can be completed
The ride is approximately 5 miles and is almost entirely on the 403 Cycle track away from cars. There is a small section on quieter roads at Hardens mead.
The ride is guided by Cycle Chippenham volunteers and has been risk assessed.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
As part of the Big Bike Revival grant criteria we will collect as a minimum a name and email address from adults at the ride event.
