Explore historic and present mills along the Huron River as the three bicentennial communities begin to wind down their year with a combined event. Attend any or all three free events. No registration necessary. 🍎🍺 Time: 10AM Begin the day with Nancy Steinhauer at the Dexter Cider Mill, the longest continuously operating cider mill in Michigan, for an apple pressing demonstration and cider-tasting. 3685 Central St, Dexter, MI.
🌾🥖Time: 1PM Join Lee Vedder, Zingerman’s Bakehouse Historian, along with Hazim Tugun, Bakehouse Bread Manager, for a presentation about the history of 19th century mills in Washtenaw County and how Zingerman's Bakehouse is carrying on their historical legacy. A tasting of freshly milled, whole grain breads from Zingerman's Bakehouse will follow. 🌽 Time: 4PM Enjoy a guided tour and milling demonstration in Washtenaw County’s only remaining 19th century flour mill. This mill features the original equipment as built by the Parker family, and can still grind grain into flour. Parker Mill, 4650 Geddes Rd, Ann Arbor, MI.
