The Jefferson Community Band proudly celebrates the 200th anniversary of Jefferson Parish with a concert that brings our history to life through music. The program traces the parish’s journey—from its early days of small farms and immigrant communities from France, Spain, Germany, and Italy, to the arrival of the railroads and the impact of the Civil War. Audiences will experience the lively sounds of river showboats, the music and dance of the early 1900s, the echoes of World War I and World War II, the post-war boom, and tributes to the notable citizens who helped shape our community.
