About this Event
This afternoon workshop is for you if you want to acknowledge and respond to the climate emergency within the worship you are leading. You will have an opportunity to work in groups to discover how Biblical material, written so long ago and in a different context, can still give insights and inspiration into such a modern issue. You will then explore how you might use those insights and that inspiration as a basis for planning relevant contemporary worship. The session will close with an act of worship that has been planned using this model.
You can come in person or join on-line over Zoom. There is no charge for admission but it would be useful if you could register so that we have some idea of how many people to expect.
The session will showcase new material that has been developed for the Continuing Local Preacher Development programme. No specific knowledge is required, but reading and praying about some of the key issues beforehand might be helpful.
The workshop is for local preachers, worship leaders and ministers in the Manchester & Stockport and Bolton & Rochdale Methodist Districts. (If you'd be interested in a similar workshop but don't fall into one of these categories or are from elsewhere then please contact [email protected]).
