About this Event
This is a friendly and casual ministry project incorporating The Word and the land: two of the Lord’s greatest gifts to us! If you feel led to join us, I pray it will minister to wherever you are currently at in life & further your walk with Jesus!
The teaching for this session will be on Galatians 5. No Bible? No problem! We will have extra (or the app is a-okay, too!)
We will meet at 10am in front of the Occoquan River Office Building (glass building right at the entrance, parking available all around at no cost.) We will do brief intros then hit the trail for a light, low-intensity 1.5 mile hike. Our stopping point will be right in the middle (Shepherd Point) for our teaching and discussion. Lunch from Mission BBQ will be provided back at the meeting point directly after for anyone interested! (No cost)
The heart of Free Bird is to renew and sustain our worship of The Creator through the lense of His creation. Whether its changing seasons, pruning branches, or birds migrating with no map, we see ecosystems that were intentionally designed for surrender (Isaiah 40:3.) But us humans, we are tricky! The world, our personal circumstances, and fleshly temptation can often weigh on us and deceive us into thinking the Lord is distant; when in reality, He is as close as the rocks beneath our feet, trees by our sides, and the lake breeze blowing before us! We lift each other up to stand fast in the freedom which Christ afforded to us, and fly freely in His mercies & goodness that are unchanging.
