This is a free community event as part of the 2025 Biamp Portland Jazz Festival.The Walker Barber Duo is a jazz-folk duo known for their unique blend of original compositions and timeless standards, drawing on influences from Duke Ellington and Django Reinhardt to Joni Mitchell, poetry, and nature. Quinn Walker (Trumpet) and David Barber’s(Guitar and Vocals) collaborative songwriting reflects a deep musical synergy, fusing folk storytelling with the improvisational spirit of jazz. Their performances are a journey through both familiar and lesser-known jazz standards, all reimagined through their distinct voice and intricate arrangements. Quinn and David met while studying music at Portland State University in 2018 and have been musical collaborators in various situations since; they have been co-leading the duo project since 2021.
