About this Event
Sowing the seeds of stability - is Basic Income for farmers a potential solution to our food crisis?
Join us for an initial explorative discussion using the basic income toolkit.
The BI for Farmers campaign is a grassroots movement advocating for the implementation of a universal basic income for farmers and food producers in the United Kingdom.
We believe that a BI would provide much-needed financial security and support for those working in this vital industry, while also helping to ensure the long-term sustainability of agriculture in the UK.
We have an active working group that launched this report in April 2024 in the hopes of building a coalition that includes; farmers, food producers, community groups, and advocacy organisations who are committed to raising awareness about the benefits of BI for the agriculture industry and working towards its implementation.
Things have ramped up and the movement is gaining traction, there are possible micro-pilots in the pipeline and we would love to hear your thoughts to make this policy idea stronger.
Join us in the fight for a more secure and economically sustainable future for UK farmers.
