✨ An Evening Where Music Becomes PrayerExperience a transcendent celebration of devotion as Vidwan Palghat Dr. Ramprasad takes the stage for Bhakti Samarpanam at the Margazhi Festival 2025. With his spiritual depth, technical mastery, and soul-stirring expression, Dr. Ramprasad transforms every note into an offering — a bridge between the earthly and the divine. 🎶🙏
Every December, as the Tamil month of Margazhi begins, the world of Carnatic music awakens in devotion. Dawn ragas fill the air, temple courtyards come alive with hymns, and Chennai blossoms into a vibrant stage for one of India’s most sacred musical traditions. Rooted in bhakti and sangeetam, Margazhi celebrates the idea that music is not just heard — it is felt, lived, and offered.
Carrying this timeless tradition forward, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre presents the Margazhi Festival 2025, a two-day celebration honouring the spiritual essence of classical music.
🌟 Day 1 opens with Sangeetha Bhakti Samarpanam — a deeply immersive concert by Vidwan Palghat Dr. Ramprasad, one of South India’s most compelling Carnatic vocalists. Here, the concert hall becomes a sanctum; every composition becomes an invocation; every raga, a spiritual journey.
🎤 About the Maestro
Grandson of the legendary mridangam giant Palghat Mani Iyer, Dr. Ramprasad carries forward a lineage built on precision, depth, and devotion. Trained by his father T.R. Rajaram, he has performed since childhood with some of Carnatic music’s greatest stalwarts.
Renowned for his powerful neraval, emotive delivery, and adherence to the classic Ramanuja Iyengar style, he brings a rare combination of tradition and transcendence to the stage. A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Yuva Puraskar (2019) and twice listed in Open Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Soft Powers in India, Dr. Ramprasad continues to shape the spiritual fabric of Carnatic music today.
