Our usual village show style competition PLUS a plant fair. All free to take part.
If you have something to show in the competition- a flower from your garden, an arrangement, some baking, or garden art etc. - the categories are listed below. Children also welcome to enter all categories of the show!
PROGRAM - PROGRAMA
12h00 Doors open for exhibitors and stalls set up - Montagem expositors/Inicio das vendas
13h Judging commences - Apreciacao do juri
13h30 Open to public - Exposição abre ao público
16h30 Show breakdown - Desmontagem do evento
17h00 Show finish – Terminara ao evento
FREE ENTRY / ENTRADA LIVRE
Anything which is listed in the competition category list can be brought to sell (plants/flowers/veg/baking/garden related crafts etc)
Small tables will be supplied inside the market, on a first come first served basis.
(Entry fee for sellers €1 per table)
Sellers are also welcome to bring their own tables and shade, to set up outside, if they require more space.

**Please be aware we are allowed to sell baked items and pickles etc. to takeaway, but we are not licensed to serve food, apart from the food shack and cafe, which have prior approval/permission from the Camara***

BGR Plant Fair and Exhibition- Competition Categories 2024:
All categories will have a junior section (up to 12 years old)
GROUP 1 Floral
1. Single bloom (any variety)
2. Arrangement of Flowers (mixed or same type)
3. Arrangement of Fresh Herbs
4. Wild Flower arrangement
5. Pot plants (single plants or arrangements of flowering, foliage, succulent plants and cactus )
GROUP 2 Quinta
6. Display of Home Grown Vegetables (same type or mixed)
7. Display of Fruit (same type or mixed including citrus)
GROUP 3 Home made food and drinks
8a. Non-alcoholic beverages (cordials, fruit juices etc.)
8b. Alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, liqueurs etc.)
9a. Baking- Savoury (pies, bread etc)
9b. Baking- Sweet (cakes, biscuits, pastry etc)
10a. Preserves Savoury (jpickle, chutney etc.)
10b. Preserves Sweet (jam, marmalade, honey etc.)
GROUP 4 Art and Photography
11. Photograph taken in your garden (A3 max.)
12. Garden Inspired Art and Craft (painting & drawing, garden ornaments, sculpture, needlework etc)
Competition Rules
-Please come to the registration office first.
-Do not touch other exhibits.
-BGR organisation reserves the right to re-arrange exhibits.
-BGR organisation reserves the right to consolidate or divide class entries on the day
-Maximum of 3 entries per category
-The Judge’s decision is final
Entries for the competition are welcome on the day but you can also pre register entries by email or via Facebook before 24th May.

Todas as categorias terão uma secção júnior (até 12 anos)
GRUPO 1 Flores
1. Flor única (qualquer variedade)
2. Arranjo de flores (mistas ou mesmo tipo)
3. Arranjo das ervas aromáticas
4. Arranjo das flores silvestres
5. Planta cultivada (floração ou folhagem, orquídeas, cactos, suculentas
GRUPO 2 Quinta
6. Exibição de vegetais (do mesmo tipo/mistos)
7. Exibição de frutas (do mesmo e mistas -inclui citrinos)
GRUPO 3 Bebidas e Comidas
8. Bebidas não alcoólico ( sumo, xarope, refrescos etc.)
8b. Bebidas alcoólico (vinho, cerveja, licor caseiro etc.)
9a. Massas salgada (pão, salgados etc)
9b Massas doce (bolo, bolachas etc)
10a. Conservas salgada (picles etc.)
10b Conservas doce (compota/marmelada/conserva, mel)
GRUPO 4 Arte e fotografia
11. Fotografia do teu jardim (A3 max.)
12. Arte e artesanato inspirado/relacionado com jardim/horta (escultura/madeira, cerâmico etc.)
Regulamentos da Competição
-É necessário registar as entradas em competição. Por favor , dirija-se à sala de registo.
-Não toque nas outras exposições.
-A organização BGR reserva-se ao direito de reorganizar as exposições.
-A organização BGR reserva-se ao direito de consolidar ou dividir entradas de classe no dia
-Máximo de 3 entradas por categoria
-A decisão dos juízes é final
As inscrições para a competição são bem-vindas na dia, mas também pode pré-registrar as inscrições por e-mail ou via Facebook antes de 24 de Maio.
