Join Climb Avy Aware (CAA) and the local ice climbing community to better understand avalanche risk in the backcountry.
CAA Analyst, IFMGA Mountain Guide, and AMGA Assistant Technical Director, Joey Thompson will explain avalanche danger assessment tools for Colorado’s renowned ice climbs. CAA Board member and Rocky Mountain Rescue Member, Sarah Koniewicz will lead ATES Bingo, an engaging and active review of Joey's lessons.
Watch a screening of Not Alone, an Arc'teryx film about ice climber, Sarah Hueniken and the avalanche that inspired the founding of Climb Avy Aware. A silent auction will run throughout the event with all proceeds going to CAA and their mission of empowering Colorado ice climbers through avalanche education.
