About this Event
Join us for an inspiring evening of performance, film and discussions celebrating Robert Joffrey, a visionary who redefined dance in NYC. Explore his groundbreaking legacy with dancer/choreographer William Whitener, award-winning choreographer Margot Sappington, writer and former Joffrey Ballet dancer Nicole Duffy, and Julia Foulkes, curator of the Library for Performing Arts' Joffrey exhibit. Known for storytelling and talent discovery, Joffrey revolutionized dance with his unique storytelling and discovering talent like Twyla Tharp and Herbert Migdoll. As the first ballet company on Time Magazine’s cover, the Joffrey Ballet captivated audiences with daring, culturally resonant performances that redefined risk-taking creativity in dance.
