Beyond the Queen's Gambit is an insightful, inspiring and often humorous look at the game of chess! Storyteller, comedian, speaker and chess advocate Pat LaVone takes center stage at The Hive Collaborative on Friday, March 21 at 7:30 pm, a cozy little theater in St. Paul, where he'll share many of the amazing benefits children and adults receive when they play and practice chess. You'll follow his journey: falling in love with the royal game at a young age, watching thousands of students reap the benefits of playing, and ultimately pursuing the answer to the question, "Why a Chess Club?"
Whether you're a chess enthusiast (especially chess parents!) or a non-chess person just looking for a great night out and a few laughs, this is it: fun, funny, inspiring, and insightful. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. General seating - get there early for the best seats. Tickets are $20 in advance online. Some tickets may be available at the door for $25. Plenty of on-street parking is available in this safe, cozy neighborhood theater setting.
