Beyond the Pages: Creative and Empowering Writing Workshops For Survivors of Abuse is part of the Haven Box Journey Forward Empowerment Program which aims to provide survivors with holistic and survivor-centered activities that support their mind, body, spirit, and community connections.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Beyond the Pages will be open to all survivors of domestic violence regardless of their identity. We strive to foster a safe space where survivors can explore writing as an alternative and creative avenue toward healing.
This workshop will be led by Courtney Oman, creator of WayFinder Writing, which offers a therapeutic and intentional approach to writing as a tool for self-aligned living. Her framework not only invites you to explore your inner needs and desires, it teaches you how to fulfill them through your decisions and actions in a holistic and nourishing way. Courtney knows what it can feel like to lose yourself and your life’s direction beneath physical, emotional, and mental distress. She dedicates her work to guiding and supporting those who are ready to recover a sense of inner trust, peace and direction through writing.
Courteny will be guiding us through an expressive writing and arts workshop that will blend writing prompts and artistic exercises to unlock your inner voice and explore emotions through various mediums. All skill levels are welcome.
