Join us for the "Beyond The Lens Photo Gallery" on June 21, 5:30-6:30 pm featuring original photography by local high school students! Enjoy photographs by eight high school students: Lylah Andretta, Shayla Bholan, Shayna Bholan, Dennis McCook, Robert Moore, Judith Reilly, Kevin Reyes, and Emily St. Rose.Students attended weekly Tri CYA classes taught by a Getty Images representative and a community-based photographer. In addition to learning introductory editing techniques, students also took field trips to the Heckscher Museum and Heckscher Park, Vanderbilt Museum, local businesses in the Big H shopping plaza, and the Next Chapter. Students also took photographs at Town of Huntington events, including Unity Day, and became the official photographers for Tri CYA events. Finally, students created their own photography business, "Behind The Lens," for Tri CYA's youth entrepreneur Bazaar, where they set up a studio and did same-day prints.
