The policy and planning decisions made in communities are driven by people who hold the most power and privilege. One promising way to create change is through engagement that’s co-designed with communities who have historically been marginalized and excluded.Register: https://eastsideforall.org/advocacy-event/beyond-engagement-leading-together-in-communities/
At this community lunch event, come learn about local examples of inclusive, cross-cultural engagement, and hear from community-based nonprofits who have been collaborating on city initiatives. Speakers will share the benefits of co-designed efforts and considerations for moving away from transactional forms of “drive by” engagement that have historically been used.
Presented by Eastside For All as part of the City of Bellevue's Cross-Cultural Center without Walls, and in honor of the national Welcoming Week (Sep 13 - 22, see www.welcomingweek.org).
