Wealthy producer Frederick Loren throws a birthday party for his less-than-beloved wife, Annabelle, and offers to pay each of their guests $10,000 if they dare to spend one night locked inside "the only really haunted house in the world". But, ghosts aren't all there is to fear as everyone seems to have skeletons in their closets, especially Nora Manning, a plucky young student who is impersonating a famous paranormal expert.
Nora is trapped in the house along with acid-tongued newspaper critic Ruth Bridgers, impossibly vain actor Lance Schroeder, pompous psychiatrist-to-the-stars Dr. David Trent, and the creepy owner of the house, Watson Pritchard, predicting doom and death at every turn. As they face a night filled with ghostly terrors, Nora and the others find themselves entangled in a deadly web of lies, deceit, betrayal, and even murder!
