New 12’ Handmade Wooden Skiff to be Auctioned on Oct. 4 at Boatyard Bash On Saturday, October 4, the Richardson Maritime Museum will hold its 2nd Annual Boatyard Bash, a lively waterfront community event dedicated to celebrating and preserving the Chesapeake Bay’s rich maritime traditions.
This skiff will be the highlighted item among the many items available during the Boatyard Bash’s Silent Auction. The oak and pine wooden Bevins Skiff was handmade without a kit by members of the boat-building class who were led by skilled craftsmen. Painted with blue and white marine enamel, the skiff includes wooden oars and oar locks (not shown in pictures).
If the winning bidder does not own a trailer, Richardson Museum can arrange to have it delivered to the winner’s home within a 1.5 hour drive from Cambridge.
Potential bidders are invited to visit Richardson’s Boatworks at 103 Hayward St. to inspect the boat before the event. The starting bid for the boat will be $600 and a Reserve must be met before a final sale.
