About this Event
"Between the Pulse" is a dance improvisation performance performed by CSUSM Dance Improvisation students directed by Dance Studies Assistant Professor Cherie Hill. The evening-length piece is a culmination of various dance scores, improvised adventures, personal exploration, and dance play. Through movement, "Between the Pulse" captures the essence of fleeting moments, fragmented memories, and storytelling.
Guided by the dancers’ impulses and the shared energy of space, "Between the Pulse" invites the audience to experience raw and spontaneous movement. Moment by moment, the dancers embody the vulnerability, strength, and unpredictability of dance’s pathways.
The performance is a live, unfolding journey where each dancer’s response to the unknown highlights the beauty and tension of improvisation, allowing viewers to witness what lies beyond the known.
"Between the Pulse" Performers and Improvisors are Clarice Abello, CJ Bailie, Peach Balajadia, Danika Collier, Juliana Harris, Brynn Hopping, Tamarea Jaster, Jack Kenerson, Ava Marin Lardizabal, Isabel Martinez, Aubrey Matlock, Milan Mclaurin, Skyla Miles, Calet Morales, Jessica Quezada, and Natalie York.
