Darshan Doshi Trio and MaMoGi are undoubtedly two of the biggest names in the instrumental music scene in India in 2023. In the spirit of collaboration, Darshan Doshi and Mark Hartsuch, saxophonist and composer of MaMoGi, have teamed up in a brand new, electric duo project entitled “Darshan Doshi x Mark Hartsuch.” The origin of this project came from a chance meeting at a local concert, followed by a text saying “Let’s play sometime,” followed by a full production recording session of five brand new compositions. These five compositions have become the new EP for “Darshan Doshi x Mark Hartsuch.” Darshan and Mark aim to tour India and internationally to promote their collaboration.Darshan Doshi is widely known as the busiest drummer in India. Currently, he is touring with Salim Sulaiman, Farhan Live, Adnan Sami & Amit Trivedi. He has recorded drums & percussion for many Bollywood films with music directors like A.R.Rahman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Amit Trivedi, Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal Shekhar, Pritam, Monty Sharma, Sandesh Sandhaliya, Ranjit Barot, Selva Ganesh, Sachin Jigar, M M Kreem & Amaal Malik.In addition to working with legendary composers and artists, he fronts his own band, namely “Darshan Doshi Trio,” which has released 2 albums “Live On Tour 2021” and “Live on Tour 2022” both of which won awards at the CLEF music awards. He currently endorses Pearl Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, AKG, Roland, BigFatSnareDrum, Kickblock & Slapklatz and VicFirth Darshan Doshi Signature Sticks.Mark Hartsuch, USA saxophonist and producer, has made a significant impact on the music scenes in both the United States and India. Mark graduated from the University of North Texas where he was a featured soloist in the Grammy-nominated, "One O'clock Lab Band." Beginning in 2018, Mark Hartsuch created horn arrangements and played saxophone for Grammy and Oscar award-winning artist, AR Rahman, in his live performances “AR Rahman Live.” While living in Los Angeles, California, Mark played with Johnny Mathis, Clay Aiken, Jacques Lesure, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Steve Vai, Jordan Rudess, Vinnie Coliauta, Gergo Borlai, Marco Minneman, Mr Eazi, and more. In 2021, Mark permanently moved to India. After moving, he founded “MaMoGi” with his wife/internationally acclaimed bassist Mohini Dey and drummer Gino Banks. He composed and produced their first record “MaMoGi.” The band has performed at international jazz festivals such as Enter Enea in Poznan, Poland and Timișoara Jazz Festival in Timișoara, Romania as well as local festivals like Oddball Festival in Mumbai, India.
