About this Event
April 29th - 9.30am - 3pm AND April 30th 9.30am - 3pm
Social Venture School is a free 2-day course for individuals and groups in Bradford who have an idea for supporting expectant families and families with children aged 0-2. Your idea might focus on:
- Diet, nutrition and healthy physical development
- Social and emotional development
- Speech, language and communication development
- Systems change
You will get expert help to explore and develop your idea and come away with a plan for kickstarting your enterprise journey. Plus, you’ll meet other like-minded people, build a network and hear from local people who’ve already set up a social enterprise, co-operative or other social venture. Social Venture School is delivered by Participate Projects in partnership with Community Action Bradford and District and Better Start Bradford.
What will we cover in the two days?
We will guide you through the Social Venture Toolkit, which includes:
- Choosing the right legal structure/business model
- Communicating your ideas
- Understanding finance and creating a sustainable model
- Finding and applying for funding
- Considering stakeholders and relationships
- Demonstrating the benefits of your work and completing impact monitoring
You will leave with a basic business plan, a support network of local people who are on a similar journey to you, and the contacts and information you need to take the next steps.
There will be an opportunity to access additional one-to-one support upon completion of the course.
