Join us for the fourth FREE show in the 2024 Better Days Live Music Series in Downtown Raleigh!On AJuly 12 , we'll host the fourth live music event at Hartwell Raleigh as part of the Better Days Live Music Series with music from Clare Means (Raleigh) and Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs (Winston Salem). Come early starting at 5pm for food and drinks from the Hartwell Bar, then get ready for music starting at 6pm.
Admission is free and there's a suggested $5 donation at the door to support future events and all of the musician.

About the Artists
Clare Means -
Clare Means’ latest album, Sidewalk Astronomy, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts. She first made a name for herself as one of LA's most popular, hardest working street performers. A few years ago she began live streaming her performances on Periscope, where she gained over 100,000 followers. She now livestreams on Twitch, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Over the past five years she has toured the US and Europe and in 2022 and 2023 Clare’s performances were featured multiple times on the front page of Reddit and Twitch (gaining over a million views).
Clare has been featured in many blogs and magazines including Billboard, No Depression, PopMatters, American Songwriter, Buzzbands LA, and Digital Music News and in the top selling book How To Make It In The New Music Business. Clare’s journey in music was also featured in an award winning documentary, The Street Performer, which was shown at film festivals across the US. Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs -
If Jerry Garcia and Tom Waits made an Appalachian music duo, it might sound a little like the Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs. Hailing from Winston-Salem, NC Zack and Kendra Harding blend the traditional with the trippy to create original music they like to call folk(ish). Officially formed in 2016, the two have played extensively throughout the US, as well as toured internationally. They recently returned from a tour to the UK and Ireland, and are working on completing their third album. Their unique blend of sounds and easygoing personalities have recently earned the duo slots at Mill Farm Music Party (UK), Front Porch Fest, Rockwood Music Hall, Piedmont Folkways, and more.
Their third album, Astronaut Music from Bedlam is representative of their growth as a band over the last seven years. Stepping into the wild and weird, the album explores everything from hundred-year-old murders, to three-month-long relationships and all spots in between.
While the Bugs know that only tacos and pets can make everyone happy, they aim to create a concoction of sounds that gets a lot of toes tapping and heads bobbing, and maybe make a few friends along the way. When not performing, the two can be found hiking the foothills and mountains of North Carolina with their two dogs, Joni and Moon Moon, and playing the nerdiest video games imaginable.
