NeighborWorks Week is June 1-8, 2024. Throughout this week, NeighborWorks network organizations around the country celebrate how NeighborWorks and residents come together to help people feel empowered to transform their lives. Neighborhood Housing Services of Birmingham (NHSB), a charter affiliate of NeighborWorks America, provides people in the Birmingham area with the resources and information they need to attain their homeownership and financial goals. Since 2010, NHSB’s Homeownership Center has helped create or preserve homeownership for 1028 families and provided pre-purchase education and counseling to 6,369 individuals.
The centerpiece of Birmingham’s NeighborWorks Week celebration is a mini version of the Better Cities Film Festival, a powerful platform that can inspire, educate, and mobilize individuals and communities to work together towards a more sustainable, equitable, and vibrant urban future. The festival prides itself on presenting the world’s most inspiring stories about making better cities, towns & neighborhoods.
