Maurice “Mobetta” Brown is a multi-GRAMMY-winning trumpeter, rapper, and producer whose music bridges the worlds of jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul, and R&B. Born in Chicago and shaped by New Orleans’ rich musical culture, Brown’s sound is rooted in tradition yet fearless in pushing boundaries. His trumpet is as bold as his voice, weaving improvisation, storytelling, and groove into music that speaks to freedom, love, and transformation.

Brown’s artistry has taken him from intimate jazz clubs to global stages, collaborating with Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Harry Styles, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Wyclef Jean, Kanye West, Logic, The Roots, Tedeschi Trucks, Aretha Franklin, and more. Beyond performance, his horn arrangements and production work have appeared on GRAMMY-winning albums, Netflix documentaries, and Broadway, where he debuted alongside Dave Chappelle and Thundercat.
