About this Event
Join us for an evening in conversation with Beth Macy, discussing "Paper Girl: A Memoir of Home and Family in Fractured America" --a blend of memoir and reported analysis that examines the rural-urban divide through the lenses of downward mobility, political polarization, and the decline of local news.
Macy is the New York Times bestselling author of "Factory Man" and "Dopesick," books that explore the experiences of communities left behind by corporate greed and political indifference.
Macy will be in conversation with Barbara Kingsolver, essayist, poet, and the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Demon Copperhead." Together, they will explore the themes, inspiration, and insight behind their work, engaging in a thoughtful dialogue about the social, cultural, and economic forces shaping today's communities.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Washington County Public Library.
There will be book sales and signings following the program.
