Hello Friends. In our best form letter template, we hope this email finds you well :-)That little burst of Fall last weekend got us all excited for cyclocross! Good thing it's just around the corner. The TXCX season kicks off in San Antonio at BestCross (a play on words on (RIP) WurstCross) on Saturday October 12th and Sunday October 13th.
By the time you get this email, registration will be OPEN. And do we have some great things lined up. First off, for the first 40 registrants, you'll save over 25% off the current race price AND you'll get a free badass SACX/PigPen Boys water bottle courtesy of Specialized and BicycleHeaven. That's a savings of $20 per day PLUS a $10 water bottle. Heck, I'd sign up for the bottle alone. Use registration code BestCrossFirstForty.
We'd really love to see the women's fields at BestCross this year. Thanks to generous support from Specialized, we're able to offer 50% off for the first 20 women to sign up in any of the following categories: Women's Category 3/4, Women's 40+, Women's Category 4/Novice and Women's Ages 15 and under. So grateful to have partners like Specialized. Use code SpecializedWomen.
There's more! We're going to raffle off two sweet Specialized Search helmets retailed at $160 each. We'll do one raffle at 50 persons registered and another at 100 persons registered. You chances of winner are better the more days/events you sign up for.
Our course is a bit longer this year with a total distance of 1.3 miles per lap with some longer sections for those that can push the watts. We've got the woods, the railroad ties, the back belgian stairs and the log of doom. Saturday's race will be a late afternoon to early evening affair (4 to 8pm) so that makes driving in that day easy. And then we'll wrap up early Sunday (before 1PM) so you'll still have the whole afternoon.
We've got cash prizes for the Men's and Women's elite/expert races. We've got merchandise for the amateurs courtesy of BicycleHeaven, Castelli and others. We've attached a flyer for you. A couple of other housekeeping items:
1) Second and subsequent races per day are only $5.
2) Like last year, the TXCX (and some non-TXCX) races will be using high-quality cloth season-long numbers. The cost to purchase is a $5 online (and $15 for replacements). You can find those in the Merchandise section during your registration.
As always find us on social media. IG or Threads or Facebook if you have an questions. Can't wait to see you all the second weekend of October.
(Also, our friends in Houston have a CX race weekend if you want to get your cross legs going!)
