Welcome to “Best bit of the book that!” a Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Doubles Event, held at Board in Brum.An event now even more relevant, offering a trip down memory lane!
Your 800 point combined army will comprise two 400 point forces. The clue is in the name, but we’re going to move away from the narrative a little here.
To encourage variety, theory-hammer, and allow creativity in the synergies you and your partner can create, your army can be built in one of three ways:
• Your army can be created from one Army List, as you would in a conventional Singles game, and will therefore gain the relevant special rules and you and your partner can select your army General for the event
• You can create an army from any two Army Lists and will gain the relevant special rules, but will have to roll-off every game to select your General
• You can create an army from two separate factions, provided both are Good or Evil. You will gain no special rules from Army Lists and will have to roll-off every game to select your General. The Factions being:
• Forces of Good
• Dwarven Holds - Hobbit
• Kingdoms of Men - Hobbit
• Elven Kingdoms - Hobbit
• The Free Peoples - Hobbit
• The Free Peoples - LoTR
• Rohan - LoTR
• Gondor - LoTR
• Elven Kingdoms – LoTR
• Forces of Evil
• Gundabad & Dol Guldur - Hobbit
• The Misty Mountains - Hobbit
• Mordor – LoTR
• Isengard – LoTR
• The Hill Tribes – LoTR
• The Misty Mountains – LoTR
• Fallen Realms – LoTR
• Forces must still be both Good or both Evil
• If building a list as per option 2 or 3, You must roll off at the start of each Round to determine your Leader, regardless of Special Rules
