About this Event
Play in the UC Berkeley Mahjong Club's end of the semester Riichi Mahjong tournament! The tournament will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley, a short 5 minute walk from the UC Berkeley campus.
There is parking in the lot under the church for $10 per day. Additionally, the 6 bus from the downtown Berkeley BART startion goes directly to the venue.
The player capacity is set to 24, however, we can expand to 32 if there is significant interest.

Ruleset: WRC 2022 Rules with the following modifictions:
- Mod. 2.1—Red Fives
- Mod. 3.2—Nagashi Mangan
- Mod. 4.4—Counted yakuman (kazoe yakuman)
- Mod. 6.3—Lower Penalties

This is a free-to-attend event. However, consider making a donation if possible to help us cover the costs of running fun events like these! This can be done the day of during attendance of the event. We recommend a $5-$10 donation if possible to help offset the costs of running these events.
The format will be a 75-minute 4-hanchan scramble, followed by a 2-hour 1-hanchan final for the top 4 players. After the first 4 hanchan, if you do not make it to the finals, you are free to leave for dinner.
