Founded by director in 2011, the is known for its amazing sense of space and rhythms, kinesthetic clarity and power, and approach to Korean traditional culture from a contemporary view. Making their Los Angeles debut, the acclaimed Seoul-based company will perform two pieces.
In Balance & Imbalance, dancers seamlessly partner and hurtle through space to illustrate the constantly turning wheel of opposition and harmony at the heart of all relationships. Featuring five dancers, the piece is accompanied by an ensemble of Korean traditional drummers.
Through the medium of dance and its harmonious play between rhythm, movement, and space, Judo explores the idea of sports as a way to control, mediate, traverse, and transcend humanity’s violent, churning urges.
The performances will be followed by a conversation with Park and other artists.
