I’m proud to Chair the City Council Finance Committee. The city has done wonderful work to improve the budgeting process and to be more open and transparent with residents, businesses and stakeholders about our funding priorities and the annual budget for the upcoming year. The annual budget for the city needs to be approved by the end it Dec and is for the calendar year that follows. So we’ll approve in Nov or Dec of 2025 the City’s 2026 budget.
“Budget Day” is an open public meeting where we go department by department to review the proposed budget and discuss. It’s a great time to learn more and to make your voice heard about any funding priorities you have (public transit anyone?!?) 🚍🚏
Closer to the date the full schedule will be released. Come for just the session on the department or topic you’re concerned about (parks, library, police etc) or come for the entire day! 🙌🏾
