I had a vision in which I integrated all the skills I developed in my adult life: composer, cellist, keyboardist, circuit bender (which expanded to electronics and code writing), and a visual effects artist.In this vision, I imagined a system that would allow me to create and project a “moving art” video which would simultaneously stream digital information that would play my circuit bent instruments in sync with the visuals, creating in essence a live electronic score, with live electric cello and piano and poetry. This performance will be a manifestation of this concept.
The phrase “Exhilarating Urgency” came to me, which describes the feeling that when one gets to a point in life with many years of experience behind them and is at a point of peak acuity, it is time to pull out all the stops and go for it.
Mona Jean Cedar will not only perform as part of my set, but will precede me with a set of her own magical ASL Poetry.
