We have much to celebrate this year! With your generous support and encouragement, NAMI Lansing has shared the NAMI message of Hope and Help and practical resources to aid in recovery. We are welcoming our first AmeriCorps member this summer and we received the Outstanding NAMI Affiliate Award, national recognition of the strength of our community efforts.
For the second year, Brian and Ellen Jeffries will host this event, which will be held on the grounds of their home overlooking the Grand River. Through their generosity, 100% of the proceeds will support NAMI Lansing.
MSU Women's Basketball Head Coach Robyn Fralick will be our special guest. In the 2023-24 season, her first season at MSU, Okemos native Coach Fralick led the team to a 22-9 record, the best since 2015-16. As head coach, she not only cultivates basketball success, but also "...has the ability connect individually with student-athletes in order to maximize their abilities, while also bringing everyone together to create team success," said Director of Athletics Alan Haller.
In late 2018, Fralick was named the recipient of the C. Vivian Stringer Coaching Award. The award is presented to an individual who has experienced outstanding achievement as a coach for female teams. The award's website indicates that the winner exhibits "a high standard of propriety, imagination, and innovation as a character-builder in the tradition of great teacher-coaches."
The former Robyn Flewelling had a storied career at Okemos High School and was named to the Okemos High School Hall of Fame in 2017. Coach Fralick played basketball at Davidson University where she majored in psychology. She also has a masters degree in counselor education from Western Michigan University.
