On Thursday, 10/24 our beloved Brew Dog "Barley" woke up to a minute long seizure. With no history of seizures, it was a big shock to the family. She seemed fine through the rest of the day, then as the evening approached, Barley had another... then another. Throughout the night, she experienced 11 seizures (one every 90 minutes) and was brought to the emergency animal hospital. She was sedated, then spent days in emergency care. There's further CAT scans, neurology visits, and testing to be done, but the best assumption is she was diagnosed with Epilepsy and should be ok with lifelong treatment. At 4 years old, this was heartbreaking, and our family is sincerely grateful for friends and family that have offered support. Currently, the vet bills have exceeded $4,300 - and looking to be significantly more.We will be holding a Silent Auction on Friday, November 22 from 4-8 PM to help with Barley's medical bills and future medical treatment.
