Join Professor Tony Pollard, renowned conflict archaeology specialist, and Derek Alexander, Head of Archaeology at the National Trust for Scotland, for a fascinating exploration of the archaeology of Culloden Battlefield. Over the past four years, new discoveries have shed fresh light on the events of 16 April 1746 and the lives of those who fought and died there.
In this engaging talk, Tony and Derek will reveal how archaeology helps uncover the true story of Culloden—challenging myths, deepening our understanding of the battle, and connecting us to the past through physical evidence. They will highlight some of the most intriguing finds from recent excavations and discuss what they tell us about the battle and the landscape.
Attendees will also have the rare opportunity to view a selection of artefacts recovered during the digs.
