About the Artist:
Ben Sherman is a young and up-and-coming saxophonist from Brooklyn, New York, making his debut at Minton's Playhouse!
He has worked with JD Allen, Emmet Cohen, Isaiah J. Thompson, Stacy Dillard, Benito Gonzalez, Michael Ode, Tyreek Mc Dole, Anthony Hervey, Andrew Cyrille, Sean Jones, and others at venues such as Smalls, Dizzys', Minton’s Playhouse, Ornithology, Nublu, Closeup and many other notable NYC venues.
In addition to his extensive sideman work, He also leads his own group, the Ben Sherman Quartet. We play original compositions and arrangements of his and everyone else in the band, which brings a hard-swinging, soulful and dynamic sound to the bandstand. His band’s sound is innovative and exciting, yet still squarely fits within the jazz lineage.
