With poems covering everything from the world's best cheese to the intimate lives of cartoon characters, Ben Macpherson has the poem for you. Blending friendly chat with style and genre, Ben is a verbal tour de force, bound to leave you laughing, crying and so much more. This is a homecoming, one off performance, after a month spent at the world renowned Edinburgh Fringe. For this show Ben is accompanied by improv musician Sam Marshall, who will also be underscoring performers on the Open Mic.Ben Macpherson is a Nottingham based writer and performer with credits including BBC Radio 2, 4 Extra and local radio stations. His live performances have seen him play around the country including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Latitude Festival and many more. He has performed for Loud Poets, Bad Betty Live and hosted dozens of shows for Nottingham Poetry Festival.

Open Mic
After the show sign ups will begin for the open mic, This will be an opportunity for poets to share a single poem up to 3 minutes long with musical underscoring from Sam Marshall. Open mic will last a maximum of 1 hour. Open mic performances will be filmed for the performers use, any unclaimed footage will be deleted. This open mic will not platform racism, sexism, homophobia and similar material. Any breach of this rule will result in performance time being immediately halted.
