When Ben Garcia strums his first chord and starts singing his Americana storytelling songs, people pay attention.
Born at the base of the mountains of Utah and raised in the Boulder Colorado area, he started playing rock shows in high school and had many successes in the alternative music scene. His stage career went on hiatus after college, but he continued writing throughout. For over 20 years Ben Garcia made a name for himself in the bird dog hunting and field trialing community, spanning the country from border to border and coast to coast with 20+ bird dogs and a handful of horses. On these weeks-long interstate drives he had experiences that crafted his lyrics, bearing witness to the folks, towns, drinks, and feelings he met along the way. During those years he recorded multiple albums and upon the death of John Prine in 2020 he recorded a song he called “Goodnight”. The song brought great accolades; however, heartbroken by the death of one of his biggest musical influences, he paused his song writing and recording until late 2023 upon a trip to Texas. Ben was back on the highways he traveled before, and the flame was lit again. His songs have a confessional style that makes your heart, and ears listen. The songs have an earthy tone inspired by singer-songwriters of the past, as well as his own unique storytelling method. Ben brings these stories to life for listeners to enjoy.
